Weather Plan for meets
Hello Fin Families -
With the summer here, we have unexpected and quick changes in the weather. I wanted to send out a weather plan that we will use for any home meets. Please read below and hope the weather continues to cooperate on meet days :)
-- We do not have the ability to offer indoor shelter in case of a storm. If there is a storm, we ask for all swimmers and their families to wait in their cars. Not every delay results in the need to evacuate to your cars, but if you feel safer to do that, please do. Please do not leave! Many times we have a short delay and then resume the meet.
-- We will communicate via email and with alerts through the Swimtopia app how long the delay is for and what we think will be happening with the meet.
-- In case of lightening and thunder, the lifeguards will close the pool for the appropriate amount of time per pool rules. The coaches, team reps, and ASA official will meet to decide if the teams can wait out the delay or if there is a need to cancel. Most times we can wait out a delay and resume the meet. Of course these delays can cause the meets to run even later than expected.
-- If you have any questions, please reach out. Will be hoping the weather continues to treat us well until the end of June!
