Equipment
Swim Equipment Needed:
Many of these items can be found on our
Swimsuits:
Boys: Jammer style swimsuit is preferred for practice. Board shorts do not allow proper movement in the water. A jammer must be worn for all meets.
Girls: One piece bathing suits must be worn for practice. You are required to wear a one piece racing suit for all meets.
Team Swim Suits:
We will be selling a team swimsuit with our team logo which can be purchased and worn for meets (and practices!). Please do not purchase the suit unless you are sure of your competitive suit sizing. Suits cannot be returned once ordered. We will have a try on April 13 from 3-5pm to find the perfect fit! It is preferred that you buy the team suit, but any competitive suit (or previous season suits) may be worn. It is recommended to have at least one suit in addition to the team suit.
Girls Suit: Speedo Endurance+ Crossback-Navy
Boys Suit: Speedo Enudrance+ Jammer- Navy
Swim Caps:
It is required to wear swim caps for all practices and meets. You will get a 2 personalized latex swim caps with registration. You should always have a backup swim cap. You can upgrade to silicone caps using our team store.
Goggles:
How to choose them: They need to fit the swimmer’s face so buy ones that are appropriate for your swimmer. Most swim goggle styles are available in different sizes and almost always have at least a junior option
Do they fit? You will need to ensure they suction around the eyes when the goggles are pressed to the eye sockets. Leave them on for a minute and turn from side to side, make sure there is no air moving into the goggles, in the pool this will be water coming in! Goggles that have an adjustable nosepiece as well as adjustable headband are helpful for correct fit.
Goggles should not need to be super tight to keep the water out. They should be worn as loosely as possible for comfort. If goggles are leaking you may need to try a combination of tightening them and adjusting the nosepiece. It may take a few attempts to get it right
Something to think about since we are practicing and competing in outdoor pools, mirrored lenses block the sun’s glare which is helpful for outdoor swimming.
It is recommended that your swimmer have 2 sets of goggles!
Tennis Shoes:
All swimmers will have dry land exercises when morning practices start. Please bring a pair of tennis shoes and extra towel for dry land. In addition, your swimmer may want to have a t-shirt for the dry land sessions as well.
Towels:
It is always a good idea to have 2 towels available at meets and practice!
Sunscreen:
When doing laps swim shirts can be heavy and restrictive. However, sun protection is essential. Please apply sunscreen prior to practice and limit the use of swim shirts.
Swim Equipment Provided:
Fieldstone Fins will provide the necessary coaches and equipment to prepare the pool for practice. All practice equipment for your swimmers will be available at the pool. For year round swimmers or other swimmers that have training equipment, it will not be necessary for you to bring your own kickboards, fins, pull buoys, or snorkel equipment.
