Hello Fin Families -

Welcome!! I wanted to send this email to welcome all of our returning families and all of the new families who have joined the FINS team for this season. My name is Lisa Service and I am the rep for the swim team. We have a board made up of a few parents and our head coach, Chris Cooper. This will be our 18^th year as a team and we are very excited for the upcoming season. There is a lot of information below, so please read to the bottom. Some of it you may have seen before, but with so many new families, I felt it would be good to mention it again in this email. Any questions, please email me at [email protected].

I would like to introduce our new head coach for this season! His name is Chris Cooper and he has a long history of being a swimmer and coaching in many different formats in multiple states. Please see his bio attached. He and his family live here in the Cumming community and we are thrilled for them to be joining our team. Coach Chris will be assisted by a number of college and high school aged coaches. All of them have swum on our Fieldstone team in the past and many are still current swimmers.

Important Dates:

May 7^th – Meet the Coaches and Swag Distribution *3pm-5pm* (drop by format)

** We will have the coaches available for you and your swimmer to meet before practices begin. We will also have t-shirts, swim caps, purchased merchandise and swag available for pick up. Merchandise will also be available for sale.

** This meeting will take place in the grassy area outside of the pool or in the multi purpose room in case of bad weather.

May 15^th – Afternoon practices begin (see schedule below)

May 30^th – Morning practices and mini fins begin (see schedule below)

June 29^th – Team Breakfast and Awards

June 30^th or July 1^st – ASA Meet at Georgia Tech (date TBD)

4:00 - 4:30     6 and Under

4:15 – 5:00    7/8

5:00 – 5:45    9/10

5:30 – 6:30    11 and up

Morning Practice Times:   Monday-Thursday beginning 5/30

8:00 – 9:30      11 and up

8:45 – 9:45       9/10

9:45 – 10:45     7/8

10:15 – 11:00   6 and under

6/8/23 – HOME vs Three Chimneys Farm

6/15/23 – AWAY at Longlake

6/22/23 – HOME vs Aberdeen

6/27/23 – HOME vs Lake Forest

Volunteer Requirements:

It takes approximately 100 volunteers per meet to ensure that meets run safely and properly. We require each family to volunteer for at least 6 shifts per season. Volunteer shift descriptions are available on our website (www.fieldstonefins.swimtopia.com) under the “meets & events” and “resources” tabs. Sign ups will be available the beginning of May. More information on specific timing of the opening of the volunteer shifts will be sent out in the next couple of weeks.

If for any reason you decide your family cannot participate on the FINS team this season, please email Lisa at [email protected] by Friday, April 21^st to receive a full refund. This has been extended from the original date of April 15^th. Partial refunds will still be given until May 14^th.
